Getting started with us is simple: The only way to get started with Fitness Beyond The Box is to schedule a Private Training Session. Contact Susan Robinson at (619) 994-4953 to get started.
How we are different:
- Active coaching with a mature, experienced trainer / coach: This isn't bootcamp-style training. Training is in small groups or one on one. You'll be trained to perform the movements of CrossFit safely and well. You'll find your confidence increases as you continue with the training. You'll develop 'muscle memory' and see your coordination and ability improve. Lots of practice and real results.
- Superior methods: Better results are achieved with free weights, functional movements, and intensity than with machines and body building-style training methods. You'll learn functional exercises, bodyweight calisthenics, and weightlifting. You'll gain cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, speed, and more. We use the CrossFit methods because they work.
- Scalability: All workouts are tailored to a level of difficulty that is appropriate for your ability and fitness level.
Reality check: We aren't promising you a fit and beautiful body without effort. You'll have to work AND you'll reap the rewards when you do!

Our program is appropriate for everyone - everyday people seeking general fitness; adults seeking increased functional ability; athletes and sports-minded people who want to see their 'game' improve. Whether you're physically active at work or not: This program will have you performing better on and off the job.
Training sessions at Fitness Beyond The Box last 45 - 55 minutes and consist of several components: Warm up, skill practice, movement preparation, followed by a workout. We place a heavy emphasis on mechanics and performing a movement correctly to ensure your confidence, safety, and results. We're dedicated to providing a road to wellness and fitness for all humans who want that for themselves.
Don't worry if you're just getting back into shape - remember that all of our workouts are 'scalable' - meaning we tailor them to the appropriate level of difficulty for your level of fitness and ability.
We regularly make adjustments in the number of repetitions, the amount of weight, and the distance covered so that everyone can participate!
